Product Overview:  The J-Link Fiber Optic Extender allows you to interconnect Token Ring stations, hubs, and switches.  Variants are available for single mode and multimode operation.  On multimode variants, links up to 2km are possible.  On singlemode, links of up to 40km are possible.

Some information from the Products Installation Manual The J-Link copper port operates with most standard Token Ring products and protocols including: Classic Token Ring Stations Classic Token Ring concentrators Dedicated Token Ring concentrator ports Dedicated Token Ring node ports Redundant links from classic stations to Ring-in/Ring-Out ports Links between lobe ports of hubs. Drive Distance SingleMode:  A fiber optic link of up to 40km is permitted between extenders. Multimode:  A fiber optic link of up to 2km is permitted between extenders.
