HP has also developed their own Postscript Level 2 emulation feature that recognizes the Postscript language. The LaserJet 4000N is also Macintosh compatible with the optional LocalTalk interface card and it comes standard with a HP JetDirect 600N print server for a fast and easy way to connect to an Ethernet network. With a duty cycle of up to 65,000 pages per month, the LaserJet 4000N should have no trouble supporting any type of report or presentation you can throw at it. The 4000N works terrific with different types of media. Not only does it handle labels, envelopes and 8.5x14-inch paper with ease, the LaserJet 4000N also prints overhead transparencies without a hitch. HP also built the LaserJet 4000N with a straight-through paper path to ensure paper jams are kept at a minimum. The LaserJet 4000N ships with 8 MB of standard memory and can be upgraded to support 100 MB. The 4000N also supports the following network environments: Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 95, IBM OS/2 Warp, Novell Netware and UNIX.
